I’m Asta, owner and head florist at Flore Studios, a floral design studio based in Invercargill.

My love for flowers started at an early age. My biggest influence came from my Nana, Patricia. Nana had an astute knowledge of flowers and plants and her and I spent many hours together tending to her own garden and touring parks, reserves and private gardens to talk about and admire the blooms. She loved sharing with me both the common and Latin names for flowers which is where the name Flore comes from - Latin for blooming, flowery, bright and shining. All qualities I look to reflect in my work, with inspiration taken from fashion, photography and interior design.

After training to be a florist and gaining invaluable experience at one of Wanaka's top floral studios as their lead wedding and event florist and shop manager, I returned to Southland to start a new chapter in my flower journey. I’m excited to be here and offer a fresh, modern take on floristry.
